What is cupping ? Cupping is an ancient Chinese therapy where a cup is applied to the skin while the air pressure in the cup is reduced ( by heat or suction). This causes the superficial muscles and skin to draw up into the cup. At times it is more beneficial to leave the cups in the one spot in order to treat specific muscles but in some cases cup gliding will be used which is simply gliding the cup back and forth on an area of the body.
What are the benefits of cupping ?
increase in blood flow
muscular pain relief
Note: Generally cupping is used in conjunction with massage therapy but it can be a treatment by itself if requested
